Meanings - Spider Web

Spider web - represent struggle like "stuggling in the web of life'. It implies capture, and the multiple strands of the web itself is often a metaphor for bars, usually prison bars. When captured, our most primal instinct is to seek escape, no less than the moth or the fly. But its obviouly difficult to escape from. But it also can represent the struggle against the drugs, or the feeling of being caught in a political, social or economic system you can't escape, or an even more general sense of wishing you were never born.

 

The spider web became de popular in prisons, with each ring of the web representing time locked there. Its easy to ind them on an elbow, on the back, or on the side of the neck. Its use to represent that teh person wearing this is in for murder, or warning to enemies keep distance, is special if its on the left elbow, that symobilizes that the wearer have a deadly weapon ready to use.

 

For fans of  traditional tattoo designs from the '40's and '50's, spider webs are also a popular motif.
