Meanings - Coyote
Coyote - As a rogue and occasionally reluctant hero, the coyote is found in the mythology of almost all the different tribes found in the Americas. Rude, restless and always interfering, it is a powerful totem, however, also a symbol of survival, health and adaptability. Many legends speak of scandalous behavior of the coyote, tricks, greed, sexual excesses, lies, blunders, and propensity to cheat wherever he went. There are those who look to the coyote as a symbol of toughness and learn to pick up and start all over again. Failure is often a better teacher than success, and reveals much about the strength of character. In Coyote, we see ourselves.
